SawControl, a software module for monitoring sawmill equipment.

The “SawControl” software module is an addition to the sawmill automated control system and provides the enterprise’s technologist and mechanic with a convenient tool for monitoring the operation of key equipment components.

Main functions of the program:

1. Saw blades, cutter heads, debarker rotors, and knives on these units life monitoring. Tracking operating time, repairs (indicating the responsible person), and maintenance planning.

2. A list of unit and component maintenance tasks, sorted by various parameters, and storing installation/repair history.

3. Convenient hints and recommendations: assisting the operator in assembling the sawing patterns, and maintenance personnel – in setting up the equipment.

4. Rapidly monitor the dimensions of lumber after cutting using a Bluetooth caliper: measurements are automatically saved and processed in the program.

Advantages of using the “SawControl” module:

• operates as a web service: local access for all employees with customizable access rights,
• no hardware modifications are required; the program can be configured for any sawing line,
